Job Purpose

This position will be based in our EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) Space line of business, which will be part of a team delivering international space missions for satellites, launchers, and interplanetary vehicles. The company works with both national and international space agencies like NASA and European Space Agency as well as working across the commercial marketplace supporting missions that include Earth observation, internet of things (IoT) satellite constellations and global positioning and navigation systems. This is a role that can truly be said to impact people across the globe.

 

The Role:

We are looking for a management accountant who can support all elements of the business in managing the day-to-day accounting activities as part of the local finance team. We are looking for someone who can ensure timely and accurate reporting, compliance, production of management accounts, project/cost accounting analysis and reports. The person will also look to support the bid team in winning new business.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monthly preparation of P&L, Cash-flow, balance sheet and management accounts including KPIs for local and Group reporting.
  • Control and maintenance of financial ledgers, Fixed Asset and other registers, management accounts and accounting processes.
  • Revenue recognition under IFRS15 based on percentage of completion and project performance tracking on a monthly basis both revenue and profitability.
  • Support the annual statutory audit process, ensuring that audit information is delivered on time and procedures are managed efficiently.
  • Preparing financial reports and budgets, as well as controlling and forecasting income and expenditure.
  • Ensuring that internal controls are implemented and maintained.
  • Supporting preparation of IFRS Annual Report and Accounts.
  • Support preparation of annual tax return and ensure group reporting is completed as required.
  • Managing HMRC and governmental reporting including preparation of VAT / Intrastat returns.
  • Work directly with project teams and customers on sales invoice raising and submission to customers.
  • Support production of financial information in bid activity.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified CIMA or FCCA accountant with preferably a minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification.
  • Qualified through experience in prior roles.
  • Knowledge of IFRS preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAPP is useful but not essential.
  • SAGE 200 experience preferred.
  • Adaptable and team working ethic and approach.
  • Strong skills with MS Office / Office 365 suite of programs especially MS Excel.
