Job Purpose

The role sits within the Procurement department, supporting both direct procurement for space projects and wider business procurement requirements. It focuses on integrating procurement activities into project teams and enhancing project performance. The position involves working with space-flight approved suppliers to manage the procurement and timely delivery of parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase request forms into Purchase Orders PO on ERP Finance system Sage and issuing to Suppliers
  • Ensure required statements inclusion and support good purchasing practices and adherence to ABSL PO T and Cs
  • Ensure procurement processes and authorisation limits are followed
  • Sourcing suitable non project suppliers obtaining competitive quotes and managing purchasing activities for consumable items
  • Act as the lead project team procurement department interface attending project meetings as required to define procurement requirements and timelines tailored to the project needs
  • Maintain and update project procurement sheets regularly with the latest information including delivery dates and order status
  • Monitor and track procurement delivery schedules chase suppliers and report progress to project teams and department lead
  • Report project procurement progress to department lead and other business stakeholders using prescribed formats
  • Liaise with Finance on any purchasing discrepancy and follow through on any action that may be required
  • Dealing directly with supplier in a timely manner to resolve any purchasing concern with shortages lead time change management etc
  • Maintain Procurement KPIs for delivery
  • Progress chasing of purchase orders with feedback to purchaserequestor
  • Issue Supplier Questionnaire and Export Compliance forms inline with procedure
  • Maintain for traceability and audit purposes all Purchasing documentation paper and electronic to correct procedure
  • Complete purchasing activities in a timely manner
  • Manage process for disposal of confidential waste
  • Log visitors on to site using On Line bookings system
  • Supporting all roles and departments within the Supply Chain departments when the need arises

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficient skills with MS Office / Office 365
  • An ability to work in a multi project environment
  • To effectively prioritize and work
  • Excellent people skills and be a proven team worker and an ability to work independently
  • Good verbal written communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet business needs
  • Able to use initiative with good problem solving and analytical skills
