Job Description: 

An excellent opportunity for a Store Assistant to join a well-established, exciting and growing Lithium-ion space business. The company designs, manufacturers and qualifies batteries for international space missions on satellites, launchers, and interplanetary vehicles.  The company’s customer’s include both national and international space agencies like NASA and European Space Agency as well as working across the commercial market supporting missions that include Earth observation, internet of things satellite constellations and global positioning systems.  The position is based in the Culham Science Centre near Abingdon in Oxfordshire and is a job that can truly impact people across the globe.

Summary

Experienced Stores Assistant to fulfil key role in the control of inventory and support across Manufacturing, Test and wider business departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Ensuring the Health & Safety of everyone within area of responsibility, including leading/managing risk assessments, safety protocol adherence and ensuring relevant PPE adherence
 Always ensuring the safety products and hardware, including ensuring relevant safety measure adherence
 Receiving items against purchase orders using business MRP system (Fourthshift)
 Receipt of incoming orders and release of incoming inspection paperwork
 Booking in of project, stock parts and consumables allocating bonded material numbers ensuring 100% accuracy and traceability
 Kit out parts against project specific BoM’s / Kit list’s maintaining full traceability
 Inventory management of stock and consumables
o Ensure Min/Max stock levels are maintained
o Control of cleanroom items, gloves, mob caps, coats etc.
 Obtain quotes and raise purchase requests for stock and consumable items
 Control of ground support equipment – assembly, vibration, TVac plates etc.
 Assist in the packing and dispatch of finished goods in accordance with relevant ADR guidelines for transport of dangerous goods
 Pack and dispatch other goods ensuring best cost and efficiency
 Perform annual stock counts
 Attend project procurement meetings and provide relevant data to procurement sheets
 Liaise with finance as required
 Internal support to all departments as required
 Ensure good housekeeping (5s)

Qualifications

 Driving licence preferred
 Forklift licence (Not essential)

Experience

 Proficient skills with MS Office / Office 365 suite of programmes
 An ability to work in a multi-project environment; to effectively prioritize and work to detailed scheduled plans and tight deadlines
 Knowledge of handling, storage and shipping of dangerous goods
