Job Title: Test Technician

Job Purpose
Join our team as a Space Battery Test Technician and play a hands-on role in testing next-generation spaceflight hardware. You’ll work with cutting-edge battery systems in mission-representative environments, ensuring safety, performance, and reliability for real-world space applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and uphold safety standards across all test activities, including risk assessments and PPE compliance.
- Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment — from thermal vacuum chambers to dataloggers and battery testers.
- Execute electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests on battery units and subsystems.
- Write and review test procedures, programs, and documentation with precision and clarity.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians across disciplines to deliver successful test campaigns.
- Support root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring readiness and accuracy.
- Apply knowledge of HV battery systems, Li-ion cell behaviour, and safety protocols in all test scenarios.
Qualifications

HNC or equivalent in an engineering or technical subject (e.g. electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or related field).

Hands-on experience in a technical or testing environment (internships, apprenticeships, or lab work all count).

A proactive, safety-first mindset and a willingness to learn from experienced engineers and technicians.
Knowledge / Experience
We don’t expect you to know everything on day one — but here’s what will help you hit the ground running:
- A basic understanding of electrical testing tools and techniques (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes).
- Familiarity with battery systems or interest in learning about Li-ion technology
- Some exposure to mechanical or environmental testing (vibration, thermal, etc.) is a plus.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools to document and share your work.
- A curious mindset and a desire to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
