Compensation Range: $62,700-$85,00 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.  

Job Purpose

We are looking for a highly motivated senior accountant to perform and support the regional accounting duties within our organization. Overall, the responsibility of the senior accountant role is to assist in performing duties related to the Americas Region consolidation process on the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. The position works closely with the corporate team and Americas accounting/finance group as well as the global equivalents to ensure the source systems (ERPs) and HFM properly reflect the activities and performance of the Company. In addition, the role’s responsibilities include the preparation and review of reporting schedules. Other ad hoc accounting projects, which require consolidation and technical accounting skills, represent a part of the routine of this position.
To be successful as a senior accountant, you must have the ability to assume ownership of various processes and reports, have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to strengthen governance, risk, and control environments. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess excellent Excel skills, embrace new challenges, be process-oriented, highly organized, able to work with little to no supervision, and perform under pressure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accurately prepare and/or review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations within BaaN, SAP (ERPs) and HFM (Financial Reporting).
• Oversee the corporate and regional fees processes.
• Ensure ERPs and the Global Consolidation System (HFM) properly reflect the activities and performance of the region.
• Communicate, escalate, and coordinate with plant accountants, segment leads, functional department heads and third-party service providers to obtain and/or transmit information needed for analysis, forecast, journals and reconciliations.
• Ability to prepare analysis on high priority accounts, quarter/year-end packages, and audit requests.
• Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
• Identify control weaknesses and suggest process improvements to make sure that effective controls are maintained over the financial accounting and reporting for the region.
• Create detailed process documentation and update work instructions, ensuring accounting implications of processes are clearly understood.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical and confidential matters.
• Ad hoc requests as assigned

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel to the corporate office is required for quarter-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA, preferred
• MBA is a plus
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting role within the manufacturing and public trade company. (Multiple entity environment preferred)
• Experience in external audit in Big 4 (E&Y, PwC, KPMG and Deloitte.) or mid-tier accounting firms, preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to communicate (orally and written) in a professional manner when dealing with employees and management both inside and outside the finance department.
• Ability to critically think and solve problems that deal with a variety of variables.
• Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly.
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
• Motivated self-starter, and team player.
• Make recommendations on process improvements.
• Must be highly organized, and accurate with a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent computer skills, intermediate or advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of intercompany transactions and recharges a plus.
