Job Purpose

As a Systems Modeling Intern, you’ll collaborate with a high-performing team of engineers and energy storage experts to drive the development of next-generation battery systems, including advanced Lithium-Ion technology. You'll gain real-world experience applying machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze battery performance trends and improve State of Health (SoH) prediction—helping shape the future of energy storage solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing projects and initiatives within the Systems Engineering team
  • Develop and refine physical system models for mechanical, electrical, electrochemical, and thermal analysis
  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to collect, analyze, and verify model data
  • Apply machine learning and AI techniques to identify trends in battery performance and enhance predictive analytics for SoH
  • Gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges and contribute to innovative problem-solving

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited 4-year college pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience or coursework in Python, R, MATLAB, or other programming languages
  • Familiarity with modular programming for scalable, reusable models
  • Interest in data-driven engineering solutions, with a willingness to learn and leverage AI/ML techniques
  • Passion for energy storage technology and a drive to explore new possibilities
