Job Purpose
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical reference for modular power conversion architectures, including the selection of topologies, modulation strategies, control algorithms, and protection schemes.
- Perform advanced electrical, thermal, and EMC simulations to guide design choices and ensure system robustness.
- Develop and optimize liquid‑cooling solutions for high‑density converters (cold plates, coolant loops, heat exchangers).
- Define technical specifications for power modules, magnetics, semiconductors, and passive components.
- Conduct in‑depth root‑cause analyses and propose corrective actions for complex field or validation issues.
- Support design teams during critical phases: schematic definition, PCB layout reviews, thermal design, and system integration.
- Participate in technical reviews (design reviews, FMEA / DFMEA, reliability analyses) and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations (IEC, UL, CE, EMC, and grid‑connection requirements).
- Collaborate with suppliers on advanced components (SiC devices, high‑performance magnetics, thermal interfaces).
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and innovation programs in high‑power conversion.
- Provide expert support during prototype testing, commissioning, and customer‑specific adaptations.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in high‑power AC/DC converter design for industrial or grid applications.
- Deep expertise in semiconductor technologies (IGBT, SiC MOSFET, GaN), magnetics, and digital control.
- Proven experience with liquid‑cooled power modules and thermal management of high‑density converters.
- Strong background in grid‑connected power electronics (harmonics, EMC, protection, control loops).
- Proficiency with simulation tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, COMSOL, LTspice.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and guide teams through high‑stakes engineering challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modular power converters, grid‑forming inverters, or industrial AC/DC platforms.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, Modbus, Ethernet,…).
- Familiarity with certification processes for industrial power equipment.
- Experience with laboratory testing, power benches, and high‑power validation environments.
