Compensation Range: 66,000-80,000 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.  

Job Purpose

Under minimal supervision, role fulfills execution of product safety compliance test plans.  Individual in this role will assist regulatory engineers in the organization, set-up, testing and documentation of new products for safety agency review. Individual will have primary responsibility for maintaining the regulatory test lab and equipment. #bel

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Work with regulatory team to develop test setups to verify compliance of electrical/electronic circuits or mechanical assemblies per documented test plans
    Coordinate collection and preparation of test samples and maintain samples for agency traceability record
    Execute all aspects of agreed upon test plans
    Document complete test reports: equipment lists, set-ups, recorded results for analysis
    Maintain safety lab with coordination of supplies, tools, and equipment calibration data
    Following training, demonstrate testing proficiency to industry safety standards, gaining authorization from regulatory bodies for ongoing independent testing and report generation
    Assist regulatory engineers with the coordination of outside test services and assist with test execution at outside labs including limited travel
    Communicate regularly with product development teams to execute safety test plans and resolve issues



    2-year degree - technical, electronics, engineering or related
    6 years experience working with analog, digital circuits, and/or power conversion circuits
    Ability to read electronic schematics 
    Proficiency with all common electronics laboratory equipment: soldering/de-soldering equipment (thru-hole and SMT), thermo-coupling equipment, meters, oscilloscope, data acquisition, loads, sources, etc.
    Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Office and Teams 
    Strong organizational skills
    Excellent report writing skills
    Collaborate and communicate effectively with development team members


    Experience working in a safety compliance verification capacity for electronics based products
    Working knowledge of safety standards IEC/UL/CSA 60950-1 and/or 62368-1
    Design or test experience working with power conversion topologies/circuits
    Understanding of signal level and power magnetics (transformers, inductors) construction
    Working knowledge of  IP networks
    Experience with programmer tools and programming of onboard microcontrollers 
    Altium eCAD proficiency for reading schematics and pcb layout details
    Labview coding proficiency
    EMC related testing experience
