Compensation Range: 82,500-103,300

Job Purpose
The Quality Engineer is a key contributor to the Quality Assurance team, promoting EnerSys Core Values (EH&S, Engagement, Continuous Improvement, Customer Experience, Teamwork, Ethics, and Accountability). This role supports plant quality activities and processes, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including Customers, Suppliers, and Operations. The Quality Engineer actively participates in the EnerSys Operating System (EOS), Managing for Daily Improvements (MDI), A3s, and Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), and contributes to tracking and improving Plant KPIs. The role also supports external and internal auditing processes to ensure compliance with Lean Manufacturing Modules and Quality standards such as ISO, VDA, and 7QBs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in and adhere to Site and Quality G-Matrix plans.
- Assist in the implementation of COGQ tools for New Product Introductions (NPIs) and Series Production.
- Familiarity with APQP and PPAP tools is preferred.
- Collaborate with Plant staff to ensure quality systems meet customer expectations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Respond to Customer complaints, Production, and Supplier issues using problem-solving tools and techniques (RCCM, 8D, CAPA, CARs, etc.).
- Strong participation and adherence in EOS (EnerSys Operating System) activities.
- Experience with Utilizing ERP and PLM systems such as SAP, Syteline, PIT, and PTC Windchill.
- Provide input and reporting for Staff and QA meetings and reviews.
- Coordinate with Regional Quality Assurance teams (Customer, Supplier, System) to streamline processes and avoid duplication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001; TL9000 and ISO 14001 preferred).
- Strong problem identification and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Mechanical and Electrical assembly and test techniques.
- Experience with Electronics and IPC standards is preferred. • Ability to understand EnerSys roles, responsibilities, departments including Sales, Service, Purchasing, Engineering, Customers and Suppliers.
- Strong auditing, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Must be a problem solver, self-starter able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to interface with all levels of personnel including Management, customers, and auditors.
- Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple, changing priorities.
- Proactive approach towards problem-solving to improve the KPI(s) related to the Quality Department.
- Relative experience in design or manufacturing environment with a good understanding of product life cycle from conception to obsolescence.
- Strong data analysis skill and data driven approach.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business or technical field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years in a Quality Assurance and Manufacturing environment.
- Training in Six Sigma, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, or related methodologies is a plus.
Language Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 15% travel to other sites or offices.
