Compensation Range: 20.00 - 24.00 CAD 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.

Job Purpose

As a result of our continuing growth, we require a DV & Compliance Intern Student to support on our Compliance testing and Certification process.   
 
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that new and existing products are designed to meet all the safety and compliance requirements for the global markets where our products are sold. And specified the projects may includes in-house functional validation or pre-compliance testing, 3rd party lab testing setup and witnessing. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with DV technologist or Compliance engineer on regular projects or special request assigned.
  • Support on the Design Validation or Compliance testing setup
  • Conduct the test following the test plan (under the supervision of the assigned engineer)
  • Continuously learn the safety/EMC standards assigned (be able to apply the right testing procedure and Criteria)  
  • Support for the 3rd party lab testing setup
  • Analyze the test data and provide the feedback to our internal customers.
  • Work on the test plan / report documentation.
  • Attend the safety audit or lab supporting tasks.
  • Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement & 5S within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Third- or fourth-year Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology student.
  • Available for a 4- or 8-month work term.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Experience using test equipment and instrumentation, such as power analyzers, oscilloscopes, programmable AC/DC power sources, and load banks.
  • Experience testing power supply or other electronic products preferred.
  • Experience working with third-party testing laboratories preferred.
  • Good understanding of PCBAs, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Good understanding of product assembly drawings.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to review and interpret complex technical documentation.
