The Engineer II is responsible for the successful design of the specified projects to meet customer requirements, following the company’s development processes. Product development/commercialization skills preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works with the engineering team to design a product satisfying specified requirements.
  • Design and documentation of engineering specialty (such as mechanical, electrical, power electronics, or software/firmware).
  • Detailed product design, operational verification, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Component/material selection: evaluation of alternative components and materials on a cost/performance basis.
  • Investigation and application of optimum techniques including simulation.
  • Adhere to timelines.
  • Design to our suppliers capabilities.
  • Perform FEA and CFD analysis of designs as necessary to minimize time to market, design cycles and product costs.
  • Work closely with other Designers, Production and Supply Chain to ensure they have everything they need to build new product introductions.
  • Work closely with Design Verification teams, product designers, and production to develop manufacturing, assembly, and test processes that meet requirements for quality, volume, takt time, and cost.
  • Work closely with the customer service team to get field feedback and drive design/manufacturing changes onto the products.
  • Provide Failure Analysis and engineering support for Customer or Production related failures.
  • Received an undergraduate BASc Engineering degree in a post-secondary university
  • At least 2 years previous and related experience
  • Experience in product development/commercialization
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Able to establish effective working relationships throughout operational groups
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and written
