Job Purpose

Reporting to the Vice President Operations Energy  Systems, the Site Operations Manager oversees the EnerSys Burnaby  Facility, which includes direct management of the facilities department, site maintenance, Health, Safety & Environment, the tactical procurement team,  production, and the warehouse team.   The Site Operations Manager will coordinate with all Burnaby  department managers to ensure the facility is structured and operating in support of the various department requirements and production targets. A successful Site Operations Manager will work as a member of the Burnaby Leadership team,  leading and coaching employees to achieve the highest standards in facilities management, saftey, product  quality and on-time delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

⦁    Provide overall management for site Operations functions (production, warehouse, facility and tactical procurement), leading the various functions to deliver the results, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
⦁    Implement, motivate, monitor, and support the EOS (EnerSys Operating System) with an emphasis on championing the goals, objectives and improvement plans across the site.
⦁    Ensuring production capacity is used effectively to meet  the production schedule
⦁    Reporting and acting on variations in schedule and processes
⦁    Identifying improvement opportunities and facilitating their implementation
⦁    Upholding product  quality by ensuring build processes and documentation are followed
⦁    Providing evaluation and timely feedback to all staff.
⦁    Creating and implementing development plans for team  members
⦁    Completing required administrative tasks to uphold ERP and human resource processes
⦁    Responsibility of managing production of Engineered to Order products and highly configured products.
⦁    Work with other ESG sties and departments to manage the local industrialization process for the NPI products being released out of Burnaby.
⦁    Mange  purchasing team  for tactical procurement of needs to support production and facility operations
⦁    Assure the site meets all environmental and safety standards. Develop, implement and enforce methods and processes that ensure a proactive safe work environment across the site.
⦁    Manage Facility department and responsible for maintaining the physical site/building
⦁    Working collaboratively with other team  members and departments to resolve production issues
⦁    Address personnel, organizational, and any other problem that may arise within assigned scope of authority in a responsive, constructive, and effective manner.


⦁    Experience in leading safe work practices
⦁    Strong English verbal and  written communication skills
⦁    Degree in Management, Engineering, Electronics Technology, Business, or related discipline
⦁    At least 5 years of experience working within multi-product manufacturing environments
⦁    Experience in supervising/managing large teams in complex, deadline driven environments
⦁    Experience in leading improvement projects resulting in measured improvements to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
⦁    Experience working with Lean and Continuous Improvement tools
⦁    Ability to work within a ERP system to execute a production schedule
⦁    Strong  computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
⦁    Leadership skills and proven  ability to positively motivate team  members and resolve conflict
