This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Compensation Range: $58,200-$80,000 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.  

Job Purpose

The Sr Power Electronics Technologist assists engineering by developing new procedures for testing, calibration or manufacturing. They are also responsible for testing and troubleshooting of Power Electronics. The primary responsibility will be testing and reporting design verification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handles a variety of technical assignments involving some complexity and recommends solutions to technical problems.
  • Work closely with other Designers, Production and Supply Chain to ensure they have everything they need to build new product introductions.
  • Support production activities to achieve on-time delivery of quality products in a cost effective manner.
  • Test Power Electronic products.
  • Component/material selection: evaluation of alternative components and materials on a cost/performance basis.
  • Identify and report design problems.
  • Compile and report any observations in a formal manner.
  • Able to identify and trouble shoot problems observed in testing, with some guidance.
  • Adhere to timelines

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Diploma / Degree Electronics (Technology) program or equivalent
At least 5-7 years related experiene

Skills and Skill Levels

Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical / electronics circuit functionality (reading schematics, etc)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Very proficient with MS Office products
Good experience using various lab equipment like oscilloscopes, power meters, data loggers and associated software
Strong accuracy / organizational skills required to record observations made during testing and compiling of results for reporting purposes
Must be able to troubleshoot basic problems independently
Hands-on experience constructing, writing and/or testing development products
Thrives in an energetic, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment
Analytical, logical and conceptual
Able to establish effective working relationships throughout operational groups
Experience within the telecommunications or electronics manufacturing industry in as asset
