Job Purpose

We are currently seeking a Test Engineering Manager/Leader based in our Burnaby, BC site to lead our test engineering team for ATE development, supporting engineering test and manufacturing test activities. This position will be responsible for test automation system design, LabVIEW software architecting, leading and mentoring test engineering team. The Test Engineering Manager/Leader will report to the Director of Product Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with program management to support various projects on NPD and NPI.
  • Assign test engineering resources to various projects, manage test development projects.
  • Work with supply chain to manage overseas contract manufacturers test processes, test equipment deployment, test system development, verification, validation, and maintenance.
  • Work with local operations team to support manufacturing test processes in production environment.
  • Design and build custom test equipment and test software to interface with Enersys’ core products.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing test processes and documentations, making test systems scalable and sustainable.
  • Verifies ATE software design and hardware design against system specification.
  • Validates, qualifies and maintains custom test equipment and software systems using MSA, Gage R&R.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering and 5+ years experience developing automated test systems using LabVIEW.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading engineering team for test system development.
  • Experience with developing manufacturing test plans.
  • Experience with power electronics products testing in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing LabVIEW application in large scale systems. Certified LabVIEW Developer certification required.
  • Experience working with NI test equipment.
  • Experience automating various lab test equipment.
  • Experience with industrial communications protocols.
  • Experience with developing bed-of-nails test fixture hardware and software.
Additional Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with testing and debugging embedded real-time software using specialized test and debug tools.
  • Demonstrated experience working with device drivers.
  • Demonstrated experience in development of program/project plans and estimates.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a "can-do" attitude.
  • Certified LabVIEW Architect certification.
  • Professional Engineer designation.
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years experience in power electronics test automation using LabVIEW.
