This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Role Overview
The Energy Storage Sales Engineer serves as a critical technical and commercial interface between EnerSys and its customers in the rapidly expanding Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) market. The role provides technical expertise, develops compliant and optimised energy solutions, and strengthens client relationships across the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sectors.
Main Responsibilities
• Conduct technical consultations and site energy audits to assess BESS opportunities.
• Design, size, and specify BESS and Balance of Plant (BOP) systems.
• Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and ROI analyses to customers.
• Liaise with DNSPs and ensure compliance with local grid and regulatory requirements.
• Stay informed on evolving BESS technologies, standards, and industry trends.
• Support the Sales and Marketing teams in developing strategies, campaigns, and training initiatives.
• Provide training to internal teams and clients on system design and operation.
• Prepare tender documentation and response submissions, including solution design, technical specifications, scope of works, pricing schedules, and supporting material, ensuring alignment with client requirements, bid strategy, and compliance with all tender evaluation criteria.

Ideal Candidate
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical trade qualification (A Grade Electrician).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with BESS, PCS, and EMS within the C&I or residential sectors.
• Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, lithium-ion systems, and grid integration.
• Excellent understanding of Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, 4777, 5139).
• Willingness to travel for client and project work.
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Ability to work as part of a team, with or without supervision
Preferred Qualifications
• Current SAA accreditation (Grid-Connect PV, Battery Design, or Stand-Alone Systems).
• Experience in microgrid or hybrid power system design.
• Proficiency in simulation and system design software (e.g., HOMER, PVsyst, or similar).
