This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.
Role Overview
Responsible for sourcing goods and services for the business unit to ensure the continuous supply and availability of materials whilst complying with planning and control system expectations. Ensure products and services are produced or undertaken within required timeframes and at the most cost-effective price to meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations. The role will have key interactions with the Procurement office to standardise process and strategic business planning for the Business Unit.
Main Responsibilities
- Inventory planning and management including monitoring incoming stock orders and being abreast of probable upcoming demand to ensure continuous flow of materials, products, and services to support group sales and operational teams
- Manage vendors to ensure the products and services provided meet EnerSys standards for quality, efficiency and cost while maintaining approved supplier listings and supplier performance records
- Manage inventory flow to ensure balance between timely availability and consumption of inventory whilst exceeding Primary Working Capital and Inventory Turn targets
- Oversee transactional project based or ERP driven ordering processes to ensure efficient and timely processing of demand and sourcing of products and services
- Create systems and tools for the procurement team to utilise to improve demand accuracy and identify trends
- Develop and maintain approved supplier lists including a thorough selection process and conduct regular evaluations of performance and monitor broader market trends alongside the Senior Purchasing and Planning Officer
- Contribute to the implementation of Service Level Agreements with all major vendors setting Key Performance expectations including quality and delivery alongside the Senior Purchasing and Planning Officer
- E100 portal interface management including monitoring cost improvement measures and uploading accurate information
- Maintain and enforce behaviour and controls to ensure EnerSys continues to abide by internal auditing and authority limit guidelines and strict adherence to the EnerSys code of conduct
- Assist with conducting Stocktaking activities when required
- Other duties within your capacity as required by the business
Ideal Candidate
Minimum
- Three (3) to five (5) years in a similar procurement role
- Working knowledge of ERP / MRP applications
- Time management, planning and organisation skills
- Good written and verbal communication
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- Basic skills in: Problem solving, Organisation, Communication & interpersonal skills, and Computer literacy – Microsoft Office / Windows environment
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work as part of a team, with or without supervision
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply or Value Chain disciplines preferred or equivalent TAFE studies
