This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

 

Role Overview

Responsible to drive a cycle of continuous improvement, ensuring that the quality of products and services and the safety of work performed at EnerSys Australia and New Zealand is continuously improved and supported by active implementation of quality systems, investigations and initiatives that support the change of our current SHEQ practices from good to excellent.
 

Main Responsibilities

•    Ensure that SHEQ Policy and related requirements are implemented within business units.
•    Provide business needed reports monthly, or as advised from time to time
•    In areas covered by the SHEQ system, ensure compliance with legislative requirements, Australian & New Zealand Standards and customer requirements
•    Ensure ISO and Third-Party Accreditations/Certifications are maintained
•    Coordinate and lead external SHEQ Surveillance audits are conducted
•    Conduct contractor/supplier audits as required
•    Conduct training on SHEQ systems with staff, provide updates on the SHEQ system as required
•    Ensure usability of the SHEQ system
•    Demonstrate active and visible leadership by providing strategic direction through effective consultation and communication.
•    Provide direction and assistance to Managers and Supervisors so that ownership of their SHEQ responsibilities can be understood and achieved
•    Conduct internal audits, verification activities, corrective actions and non- conformance resolution resulting in increasingly fewer non-conformances
•    Other duties as required by the business

Ideal Candidate

Minimum Requirement 
•    EHS/QA knowledge/experience
•    Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the business 
•    Problem solving ability and Root cause analysis skills
•    Broad knowledge of HS, specific knowledge of quality improvement initiatives, improvement focus, how to make things work better, faster, more effectively
•    Good presentation skills coupled with strong verbal, written, negotiation and persuasion skills and the ability to present to internal and external parties.
•    Understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
•    Advanced use of Word, Excel, Power point (Office 365) 
•    Flexibility with working hours including the ability to work after hours and travel locally and within Australia & New Zealand if required.
•    Good presentation skills coupled with strong verbal, written, negotiation and persuasion skills and the ability to present to internal and external parties.
•    Strong literacy and numeracy skills
•    Intermediate use of Word, Excel, Power point (MS Office)
•    Ability to prioritise workload
•    Ability to work as part of a team, with or without supervision 

Preferred 
•    Certificate or higher qualifications in relevant industry
•    Formal training in Quality systems AND/OR Health and Safety systems 
•    Change management experience 
•    Experience in facing and overcoming quality improvement challenges 
•    MS SharePoint + Power Platform experience
