Job Purpose
The Warehouse Receiving Clerk/Driver is primarily responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse. This role ensures the accuracy, organization, and timeliness of all warehouse operations, with a strong emphasis on receiving incoming shipments and verifying accuracy against purchase orders. The position operates company vehicles and equipment to support the efficient movement and delivery of goods throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Accepts and verifies incoming packages and deliveries to ensure accuracy and condition of received goods.
• Assist with shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing materials for processing.
• Read and interpret customer orders, work orders, shipping documents, or requisitions to identify items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to designated locations, including shipping or production areas.
• Sort and store materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to established sequences such as type, size, color, or product code.
• File requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, and distribute items to appropriate personnel or departments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse accessible to employees and visitors.
• Assemble customer orders from stock, prepare pallets or holding areas, and assist in staging shipments for delivery.
• Mark and label materials with identifying information using proper methods.
• Open, inspect, and process incoming bales, crates, and containers.
• Record quantities of materials received or distributed using the Visual Program or other inventory systems.
• Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and verify stock accuracy.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload packages onto company vehicles.
• Pick up and deliver orders using a company van while maintaining a professional and safe driving record.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Two to four years of experience in a warehouse or materials handling environment preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
General Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime.
