Job Purpose
Provides support to the Human Resources Manager to drive positive results for the business and Plant in all areas of Human Resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts recruitment for production positions.
- Schedules and conducts interviews, hires applicants and arranges pre-employment screening.
- Conducts new employee orientation.
- Assists with maintenance of electronic personnel and medical files maintaining strict confidentiality of records.
- Tracks and maintains scheduled pay increases
- Processes salary increases and promtions.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll within appropriate software and assists supervisors with software problems/questions.
- Distributes new hire benefit information, ensuring employees are enrolled timely.
- Assists with personnel and disciplinary issues as needed.
- Maintains/updates employee information in HRIS Hays database.
- Assists with annual open enrollment for benefits.
- Assists in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations/laws.
- Administers FMLA, STD, LOA, LTD and other leave cases.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of regulations impacting employment law and other related issues.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or the equivalent, plus 3-5 years of experience; or and Associate's degree in Human Resources or the equivalent with 5-8 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
SHRM certification preferred, PHR/SPHR; CP or SCP. Knowledge of payroll laws and processing a plus. Previous experience with HRIS systems preferred. Bilingual speaker beneficial.
