  • $90,000-$105,000 annual salary

Job Purpose

For one of our manufacturing plant in Hays KS (USA) we are searching for a candidate who oversees all production at the EnerSys Hays, KS flooded lead battery manufacturing plant, reporting to the Plant Manager.  EnerSys Hays produces industrial batteries for reserve power in several industries including communications, utility, information technology and nuclear back up power.  Ensures production goals to meet customer demand and corporate profitability.  As a project manager, drives innovation and change in plant operations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews productions orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Maintains scrap at less than 1.1%.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Consults with engineering personnel relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Supports and drives health and safety initiatives.




Required:  Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in manufacturing, project management, engineering or an appropriate discipline plus ten years of related experience, five of which include management of multiple departments.

Preferred:  Certificates/Licenses:  Professional society affiliation like National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) preferred, but not required.  Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing a plus.
