Job Purpose

Develops, modifies, installs and programs various Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to support a variety of systems including energy delivery, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical, safety, communication, and process control systems.  Provides technical support to Maintenance, Engineering, IT and Production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs, coordinates and leads controls-related installation, troubleshooting and programming, repair, adjustment, and replacement of components.
  • Inspects and tests the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults and verify repairs on transmitters, switches, analyzers, programmable controllers, proximity devices, level control systems, control valves, equipment and personnel safety systems, and others including pneumatic and electronic devices related to these systems.
  • Establishes and optimizes process control strategies and configures related systems.  Participates in teams to direct new technology master plans for the Plant in collaboration with the Engineering and IT departments.
  • Maintains software and programs that support all facility automated equipment.
  • Perform repairs on production equipment
  • Analyzes problems and proficiently suggesting improvements related to the Plants needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus an Associate Degree, a vocational or technical school certificate or the equivalent.
  • Must meet the technical qualifications for Maintenance Tech IV.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational Technical Education Certificate in Facilities Maintenance
  • Demonstrated competence in: Machining, Centrifugal, Piston, and Diaphragm Pumps, Hydraulic and Pneumatic pumps and control systems, Heating, Ventilation, Cooling, All facets of construction, Pipefitting, Welding and assembly, Electrical Controls Diagnostic Ability, Mold and Die maintenance
