Job Purpose

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the facility by completing standard cleaning tasks whilst following plant safety guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Cleans designated areas (dusting, disinfecting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, etc.).
Removes waste and recycling.
Performs and documents routine cleanliness inspections.
Executes special cleaning tasks, such as carpet shampooing and floor polishing.
Restocks restroom and break room supplies.
Maintains stock of required cleaning supplies.
Complies with all health and safety practices.
Notifies facilities manager of required facility repairs.
Must be punctual and have the ability to work an assigned shift.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read, write, and understand English
Ability to operate moderately heavy cleaning machinery
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch
This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.

General Job Requirements

Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
