Job Purpose

The Production Supervisor leads a team of operators to execute production schedules per Operation’s guidance and applies resources in an effective manner. Maintains quality control and a safe work environment. Administers policies and procedures and maintains positive employee relations. Recommends improvements in production methods and working conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads team members to achieve production goals while maintaining quality control and a safe work environment. 
  • Follows production schedules and applies necessary timelines. 
  • Schedules team members to achieve maximum labor efficiency. 
  • Assists in recruitment and onboarding of new hires. 
  • Executes training procedures and maintains training records and matrices. 
  • Ensures compliance to work instructions and prescribed production methods. 
  • Supports production audit activities. 
  • Ensures accurate production reporting and record keeping. 
  • Reviews production metrics and reacts to adverse trends. 
  • Provides suggestions for continual improvement in production methods and working conditions. 
  • Maintains timekeeping system in compliance approval deadlines. 
  • Interprets and applies all company policies and procedures to team members. 
  • Assesses team member development needs and provides guidance for career progression. 
  • Conducts performance reviews, recognizes exceptional performance, and administers discipline when required. 
  • Must have the ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends when scheduled. 
  • Must be punctual and have the ability to work an assigned shift.  

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience and two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Internal candidates, in lieu of experiences, may have demonstrated supervisory and leadership competency in an alternative documented method. 
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.      
  • Ability to solve basic to moderately difficult calculations and analyze data.          
  • Statistical analysis proficiency is required; must be able to make sound business decisions based on available information and facts.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365. Knowledge of Kronos UKG time and attendance software preferred.
