Job Purpose
The Quality Technician performs detailed inspections of in‑process parts and products to ensure they meet all documented specifications, including facility processes, procedures, and drawings. This role works closely with site management to determine and adjust inspection priorities based on production needs and operational deadlines. Additionally, the Quality Technician conducts quality system audits to verify compliance with established standards and to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists site personnel in summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
- Record/Maintain Inspection results.
- Write Material Action requests (MAR) for discrepant material found during in-process inspections.
- Perform internal quality system audits.
- Assists site personnel in generating and revising Inspection procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 30-45 pounds, requires sitting, standing, walking.
- The ability to use hand tools for precision measurement- micrometers, calipers, rulers and gauges.Excellent visual acuity. Requirement may be met with corrected vision.
- Basic electrical and/or mechanical inspection knowledge.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- G, D & T knowledge.
- Quality System experience (Auditor training, AS9100, ISO9001, etc.).
- Documented proficiency (CQT or equivalent) in visual, electrical and mechanical inspection techniques and test equipment (VOM, calipers, micrometers, microscopes, etc.
