Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to solder, assemble, test, and qualify communications and power electronics used in the U.S. Defense Industry.  The individual will work closely with the operations and engineering teams to provide support on complex products and power circuitry. The individual will work in a highly technical, fast-paced, and result driven startup environment with multifunctional team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Solder, assembly, test, and quality inspection of both prototypes and released products.
  • Assist in generation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in generation of test procedures.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, modification, rework, and repair of electronic and mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Record keeping, data gathering, charting, and analysis.
  • Identify potential problem, brainstorm solution, and assist incorporating such solutions.
  • Conduct calibration of equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement of product.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with team members to successfully achieve common goals.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline OR equivalent experience in the field or in a related area.
  • IPC-610 soldering and rework skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
  • Proper documentation to work in the USA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active IPC-610 or IPC-620 certification.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to use equipment such as: DMM, oscilloscopes, power supply, data loggers, thermal chambers, microscopes.
  • Ability to test and troubleshoot electronics and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) also known as Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Ability to read and understand schematics is preferred.

General Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
