Compensation Range: $71,000 - 88,900 annually DOE

Job Purpose

ABSL is seeking a full time Configuration Management Lead to lead, develop, improve, and maintain configuration management (document control) processes, personnel, and procedures. In addition, the Configuration Management Lead will generate, revise, manage change, and maintaining product and process documentation required to support Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality Assurance functions.  This includes document control functions, records storage / archiving, maintaining the training system and data base maintenance.  The position reports to the Quality Manager and will be required to assist other departments / facilities as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees execution, management, and improvements of the Configuration Management (Document Control) procedures and policies using lean principles
  • Management of CM team, including goal setting, continuous performance management & general personnel concerns
  • Provide training to organization specific to the configuration management system
  • Creates, develops, and maintains key process metrics for configuration management processes
  • Performs configuration audits of product documentation
  • Coordination of Engineering Change Order (ECOs) activities
  • Provide backup support to Configuration Analyst duties that include document and data system maintenance, training database management, and ERP data management
  • Understand CM2 standards for product data management
  • Other duties as assigned 


  • Ability to manage personnel, schedules and process improvement activities
  • Ability to develop, improve, document, implement procedures and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of personnel (management, customers & auditors). 
  • CM2 certification or ability to obtain in first year of employment
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of experience OR Vocational Degree w/ 6-8 years experience OR Bachelor Degree w/ 4-5 years experience in configuration management (CM) in a highly regulated company
  • Process improvement & Internal auditing experience
  • 2-5 years management experience
