Compensation Range: $74,000 - $110,800
(Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.)
Job Purpose
ABSL Space Products (ABSL) is the world-leading manufacturer of Lithium-ion batteries for space applications. As part of an ongoing expansion program, we are seeking talented individuals who have the self-motivation and desire to become world-leaders in their field to join our office in Longmont, Colorado.
The ABSL Manufacturing Team is looking for a driven individual to develop and orchestrate manufacturing processes for build of Li-Ion batteries. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 0-3 years of experience to work with a growing international space component supplier.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement manufacturing tooling for battery assemblies.
- Create, revise and manage process work instructions to ensure technicians are provided accurate instructions within an electronic manufacturing execution system.
- Provide CAD, drafting, and design support for manufacturing.
- Perform nonconformance investigations; report and record results and provide resolution options to the team.
- Prepare and present material for assembly readiness reviews and MRB's.
- Represent manufacturing at internal team meetings and customer meetings.
- Review flight hardware part and assembly drawings to ensure design for manufacturability and compliance with industry standards.
- Train technician team on in-house processes.
- Perform hands-on build to establish processes or aid in investigations.
- Support new design programs and provide input to complex manufacturing issues.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline such as engineering (Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical preferred), math, or physics.
- SolidWorks/CAD drafting and design experience.
- “Off” hours or weekend support may be required.
- Familiarity of standard concepts, practices, and procedures and equipment within aerospace manufacturing.
- Familiarity with NASA standards and aerospace manufacturing practices.
- Experience working in clean room environments, under ESD protections, and stored energy safe practices advantageous.
- Previous work in an AS9100 facility advantageous.
