Job Title:  Battery Operator

Job Purpose

The job consists of shift work across 5 days and 3-day shift pattern. Battery Operatives need to be professional and flexible in their approach to meet the needs and demands of the customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Removal of flat batteries from the customers vehicle.
• Operate the FIFO system to correctly pick the required batteries.
• Regular topping of all fully charged batteries prior to installation when required.
• Insert and correctly connect batteries into the customers vehicles in a timely manner.
• Operate the overhead crane to following completion of onsite training.
• Operate BBE following completion of onsite training.
• Responsible for always adhering and wearing the correct PPE.
• Maintain satisfactory levels of cleanliness with the designated work area in line with the customers’ 5S requirements.

Skills/Experiance/Qualifications/Competencies

• PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft would be a benefit.
• Previous assembly or automotive experience.
• Numerate and literate - GCSE passes in Mathematics and English Language would be desirable.
• Able to operate professionally in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Adhere to all safe working practises.
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and use correct manual handling processes to be used to lift and access batteries.

• A commonsense approach, with good interpersonal skills.
• Punctual for shift/s and flexible in working hours (overtime is available as required by customer demand).
