Job Purpose

The Content Marketing Specialist serves as the chief storyteller for the Energy Systems Marketing team, focusing on sectors like communications networks, data centres, and industrial power and utilities. Their role involves planning, researching, creating, distributing, and analysing content to engage the target audience, attract potential customers, support products, and generate leads, with an emphasis on audience needs rather than just promoting products. Responsibilities include providing both operational and strategic support for content marketing across channels such as web, SharePoint, advertising, blogs, guides, whitepapers, infographics, videos, and animations. The specialist will define content topics and formats that align with business goals, create editorial calendars, and develop a compelling content vision that supports the EnerSys Energy Systems brand, value proposition, market messaging, and customer journey, with a focus on marketing ROI, KPIs, and targets. They will use effective technologies, tools, and platforms to streamline customer contact through appropriate channels, reaching all Energy Systems segments and markets. Collaborating closely with global product management, customer experience teams, business development/sales, service teams, external agencies, and service providers, the specialist ensures global and regional representation. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Energy Systems, the Content Marketing Specialist will be part of a dynamic global team, developing marketing campaigns, content, messaging, collateral, and programmes to build brand and capability awareness and increase market share in relevant Energy Systems segments. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Content 

  • Develop new and revise existing content, collateral, and sales tools for EnerSys Energy Systems products and services. This includes various media formats like print, digital, web-based, video, and animation, focusing on solutions-selling and thought leadership. 
  • Understand and use the EnerSys and Energy Systems tone of voice and brand to meet strategic goals. 
  • Produce final copy for internal and external use, ensuring alignment with EnerSys corporate guidelines, based on stakeholder information. 
  • Collaborate with the in-house creative team to develop briefs and guide creative direction for advertising and communications across print, digital, web, social media, video, and other marketing assets. 
  • Create application-focused content that can be adapted for different media channels, including social media, email, blogs, brochures, and newsletters. 
  • Support global marketing tradeshow efforts by creating specific materials for events. 
  • Keep up with industry best practices and trends in technical and product copywriting.

Marketing

  • Maintain the Energy Systems section of enersys.com, updating content and landing pages to keep the site engaging, to ensure leads are maximised, and optimized for SEO. Manage updates via the CMS (Optimizely), as required.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement SEO meta descriptions, titles, and tags for campaigns/product launches.
  • Write executive talking points and scripts for events, interviews, webcasts, and podcasts.
  • Contribute to corporate web strategy, integrating Salesforce CRM with web environments, tracking user journeys using Google Analytics, and reporting to the Energy Systems marketing team. Maintain up-to-date content on SharePoint intranet.
  • Develop advertising tactics using PPC, display, social media, and programmatic platforms to expand audience reach and enhance lead generation. Coordinate with external partners as needed.
  • Support the creation of marketing campaigns aimed at generating qualified leads to boost sales, using various channels including e-blasts, social media, print, PR, and traditional mail.

Marketing ROI and Statistics

  • Manage activities according to annual marketing budgets. 
  • Identify KPIs for social media, SEO, website usage, email campaigns, and web activities to regularly measure and report on marketing ROI and effectiveness. 

Planning and Budgeting

  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing, Energy Systems to assist in the development of long-term and annual marketing plans.  
  • Ensure timely, on-budget project completion.   

Branding

  • Collaborate with marketing team members and internal stakeholders to develop influential content. 
  • Craft on-brand copy that engages customers. 
  • Partner with the in-house creative team to develop concepts and apply brand identity and tone of voice in impactful collateral and online/offline executions. 

Customer / Stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Energy Systems marketing, product management, and customer experience teams to ensure a cohesive, measurable, and effective content strategy aligned with campaign plans and objectives. 
  • Work with marketing team members to achieve goals and KPIs.

Legal/Corporate

  • Review content for legal and regulatory compliance. 

Experience and Qualifications

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or similar.

 

Business

  • A minimum of three years of experience working in marketing, content creation, communications, or similar.

 

Marketing 

  • An excellent understanding of B2B marketing principles and strategies. 
  • Proven success in content-led marketing campaigns. 
  • Skilled in social media, marketing automation, campaign production, blogs, print media, web content management, and digital presence building. 
  • Knowledgeable in SEO, SMO, and PPC practices. 
  • Experienced in marketing communications, writing for print and digital formats, and collaborating with press, media, and agencies, as required. 
  • A portfolio of published work. 
  • Preferred experience with Salesforce CRM, Adobe Creative Suite, Digital Asset Management tools, Monday.com, Pardot, and other marketing software. 
  • Strong focus on achieving marketing ROI and KPIs, and budget management. 

General Skills & Competencies

  • Preferred experience in the energy systems industry (telecoms, cable broadband, industrial, and data centre). 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with a professional and clear approach to interacting with customers, field sales, and company contacts. 
  • Ability to translate technical information into relatable and understandable content for both external customers and internal audiences. 
  • Strong analytical skills, data understanding, and decision-making capabilities. 
  • High energy, self-starter personality with a focus on success and proven ability to work autonomously. 
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English, capable of working in a multinational/multi-language environment. 
  • Strong multi-tasking and project management skills. 
  • Excellent people skills, capable of building a strong network of internal and external contacts. 
  • Experience in collaborating with business development/sales professionals to generate leads and align marketing activities with campaigns. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% annually.
