This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.
Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for supporting manufacturing by maintaining equipment and carrying out planned preventative maintenance as per schedules
Responsibilities
Complying with Company Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
Completion of Planned preventative maintenance tasks.
Maintenance / repair of equipment in breakdown situations
Ensuring the highest levels of housekeeping and cleanliness whilst working
Liaising across all areas of the organization to achieve production priorities
Qualifications
Full-time served apprenticeship
Essential qualifications – BTEC National or City & Guilds and HNC
Knowledge and Experience
Multi-skilled with at least 5 years’ experience in a busy manufacturing environment
Strong Mechanical Engineering background
Experience in hydraulic/pneumatic controls
Some knowledge and experience of Robots would be an advantage
Electrical experience would be an obvious advantage but not necessary
General operating knowledge of health and safety
Experience in welding would be an advantage
Understanding of permit to work systems
Experience in Machining / Milling / turning would be an advantage
Experienced in use of lock out tag out systems LOTO
Skills and Competencies
Problem solving and fault finding expertise
Basic level of PLC Programming
Self-motivated and proactive approach
Able to meet the demands of a physical role
