Job Purpose

The Maintenance Technician ensures that all equipment designed to support EnerSys production is in good operating condition. The Maintenance Technician is expected to have knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and is expected to effectively interface with team members and contractors to coordinate installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Uses preventative maintenance scheduling software, Maximo, E-Maintenance or equivalent, to perform and/or ensure regularly scheduled equipment maintenance is performed.
•    Maintains operating condition of facility and production equipment and completes all repairs using resources available. 
•    Utilizes knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or heating/cooling skills in completing assignments.
•    Performs diagnosis, repairs and maintains equipment by applying electrical/ electronic/mechanical troubleshooting and safe work practices.
•    Installs and repairs wiring, fixtures, machinery or other electrical devices by performing electrical work at a journeyman level. 
•    Installs or assists in installing, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems and fixtures. 
•    Ability to follow blueprints, schematics and drawings in the diagnosis and repair of equipment. 
•    Repairs and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. 
•    Works with subcontractors to complete building and equipment maintenance tasks.
•    Follow all prescribed safety practices and industry standards when performing work assignments.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and AAS degree.  Military technical experience highly desired.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to do basic math (subtract, multiply, divide, percentages)
  • Basic Hydraulics, pump, electrical, HVAC, electronics, welding, and machining skills desirable

General Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
