Job Purpose

This position is responsible for America’s Region lead accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles as well as reviewing rest of world lead variances. They will be responsible for monitoring and tracking lead throughout the America’s region. This includes areas related to monthly financial closing process, budgeting and forecasting lead variances. Supporting Corporate Purchasing with standard lead cost roll requirements. Reviewing monthly lead data to verify it conforms to contracts and established EnerSys policies. To assist the Corporate Cost Accounting Manager in areas related to SEC reporting and other areas as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform month end close activities timely in line with internal schedule deadlines as well as accurate accounting in accordance with GAAP. Includes monthly journal entries related to accrual accounting. Verify accuracy of lead variances on balance sheet and income statement.
  • Participate in the budget and forecast process as it relates to areas of lead accounting. Includes working with different departments to get information as needed to meet deadlines. Reviewing and calculating lead variances.
  • Preparing reports in line with lead accounting, budgets, forecast, lead purchasing, lead scrap analysis and lead variances.
  • Support Corporate purchasing with calculating and reviewing lead standard cost for a yearly standard cost roll and in other areas as necessary.
  • Assist the Corporate Cost Accounting Manager in preparation of the Board Of Director lead cost slides as well as preparing quarterly reports related to SEC reporting.
  • Work one on one with internal and external auditors to meet their requirements.
  • Ad hoc report and information requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting
  • 2 plus years of manufacturing accounting experience (multiple entity environment preferred)

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees and management both inside and outside the finance department.   
  • Must be able to perform all accounting functions including account reconciliation, cost analysis, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Must be able to problem-solve and analyze financial data.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and ERP Systems.
  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of BaaN and/or SAP and/or Oracle Hyperion Financial Management is a plus. (preferred).
