Job Purpose

Responsibilities include preparation of periodic and annual SEC filings and other external reporting, including data gathering, drafting, and filing documents as well as coordination with corporate and regional finance, internal and external legal counsel, external auditors, and the Disclosure Committee.  The work involved is related to the overall management and general business of the Director of External Reporting function

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of quarterly 10-Q’s, 8-K’s, annual 10-K’s, Board of Director Updates/Audit Committee, Analyst Updates, and other external reporting
  • Ensure compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting requirements
  • Implementation of new Accounting Standards
  • Drive process improvements within the External Reporting function
  • Technical resource on GAAP matters, including researching and drafting technical memoranda to present conclusions to management and external auditors
  • Responsible for complete and timely SEC Filings, with heavy direct interaction with external auditors, along with adequate documentation to support conclusions and disclosures
  • Present disclosure requirements in accordance with GAAP and SEC rules, along with proper justifications to the Disclosure Committee
  • Preparation of Accounting Policies to be use by the regions resulting in proper information disclosed in external filings
  • Participate in quarterly financial statement analysis with corporate and regional finance
  • Responsible for documentation and compliance of internal controls relating to external reporting
  • Special projects as required
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical matters within the Corporate Finance Department.

Education and/or Experience
BS in Accounting with 7 to 10 years’ experience
SEC reporting experience required
Must possess high degree of accuracy
Must be deadline driven and flexible relative to work hours
Solid knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules, regulations, and deadlines
CPA with BIG 4 experience relating to public
Ability to interact with senior management, outside legal counsel, and auditors
Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 compliance requirements

 

Computer Skills
Competency with standard Microsoft applications required.
Knowledge of Hyperion, BaaN, and Oracle a plus
