Job Purpose

The position is a training and experience role for future accounting and finance leaders at EnerSys. The position will provide exposure to the business and accounting processes through a mix of structured process reengineering, projects, and short-term assignments. The expected duration in this role is about 3 years after which the employee will rotate out into the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Work within a team to develop and implement optimized processes using lean methodology. This will include process mapping of the current and future state, transformation planning, change management, and ongoing monitoring activities related to process changes. It involves simplifying, streamlining, and harmonizing essential accounting and finance processes to create a leaner, more efficient operation. The candidate will be expected to gain EOS (Lean Six Sigma) Belts during their tenure.
  2. Creating and supporting process improvement and project deliverables such as policy documentation, risk control matrices, trainings, templates, automated tools, models, etc. Similar support for related IT initiatives including working with IT and finance users to ensure needs, requirements, and deliverables are well articulated and met, assisting UAT, and training impacted staff.
  3. Candidate must be able to utilize project management skills to effectively manage a team and deliver outcomes on schedule.
  4. Support the overall accounting and finance structure as a “plug and play” resource, as needed, to fill short-term needs that arise.
  5. Other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Must have an MBA, Masters Degree or at least 150 credit hours and a BS degree.
  2. Candidate is expected to have or be preparing to become a CPA.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Must be highly motivate as demonstrated through exceptional GPA and extra-curricular activities.
  2. Must be willing to pursue CPA designation and EOS (Lean Six Sigma Belts)
  3. Must be a team player.
  4. Must be a fast learner.
  5. Must be an effective communicator.
  6. Must be able to manage multiple projects and tasks with various deadlines.
  7. Must be able to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees and management both inside and outside the accounting department.

Travel Requirements

Travel will vary in intensity and could involve extended trips both domestic and internationally to support various projects, initiatives, and assignments.
