As a Lead Systems Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of that revolution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of product development for advanced 36V energy storage systems, from concept through commercialization. Your work will directly impact critical applications like 5G communications, data centers, electric vehicles, and more.
- Collaborate with a diverse and talented team of engineers across mechanical, electrical, and electronics disciplines. You’ll play a key role in integrating hardware and software processes to deliver holistic, innovative solutions.
- Implement state-of-the-art Systems Engineering tools to manage requirements, architectures, and technical designs while reducing complexity and driving clarity across projects.
- Guide your team through challenging design decisions, exploring new approaches to deliver breakthrough energy storage solutions that set new industry standards.
- Be a mentor and technical leader. You’ll not only lead projects but also nurture the growth of the engineers around you, helping them thrive both professionally and technically.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Professional certification in Systems Engineering is highly valued for candidates without a formal Systems Engineering degree.
- 8+ years of experience (or 5 years with a Master’s) in Systems Engineering or a similar role, with a track record of leading high-performing technical teams.
- A deep understanding of the design and development of complex systems, ideally in Lithium-ion Battery Systems or similar technology, with at least one product successfully launched into the commercial market.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with mechanical, electrical, and electronics engineers. Electronics/electrical expertise is key in this role, but familiarity with software processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in using Systems Engineering tools to manage design trade-offs, conduct analysis, and explore the technical space for novel solutions.
- The ability to break down ambiguity and define clear boundaries and contexts for project design and development, leading your team to clarity and success.
- A creative, solutions-oriented mindset that thrives on innovation and values designing energy systems that deliver unique value to customers.
- A leadership style that balances technical rigor with strategic insight, making sound judgments on how to approach complex problems and manage competing system properties.
