Job Title:  Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose

EnerSys is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for its product development team! 

As a Mechanical Engineer you will join our product development team: in this role you will take care of the new products introduction. You will drive and push the product development, looking at manufacturing processes, tools and methodologies to ensure reliable and cost-effective manufacturability and serviceability of our products.

THIS ROLE WILL BE AT OUR GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY CENTER IN READING, PA ON A HYBRID SCHEDULE (M/F- REMOTE AND T/W/TH- IN THE OFFICE)

• Work closely with fellow developers and multi-disciplinary teams to close the gap between actions needed to quickly implement new ideas and solution to satisfy the customer requests
• National and international travels to internal and external offices and factories to enhance personal engagement and deliver best in class products and solutions

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or related discipline
• At least 3 years experience in large enclosure (preferred in Energy/Storage field) systems manufacturing and design
• Experience in Electro-mechanical integrated systems design, material selection for the different applications
• Production environment experience: experience with design for manufacturing, sheet metal manufacturing processes and production processes
• FEM knowledge: clear understanding of the engineering tool, being able to lead a simulation activity, define the load cases and review the results
• HVAC experience: selection and implementation of HVAC systems
• 3D modelling and 2D documentation (general drawings for integration and detailed drawings for manufacturing, GD&T basic understanding)
• Ownership of the design challenge: involve the team members and push for the development to reach the goal
• Time management: being able to define the duration of the design activities, be focus and being able to recognize priorities to deliver on time (feel the responsibility of the committed timeline)
• Interpersonal skills to create a more collaborative environment
• GOOD communication skills
• Read, write, and speak proficiently in English
