Job Purpose

With limited supervision, The Senior Dev/Ops Engineer supports the enabling of new connected technology through commercialization of reserve and motive power energy storage systems and products.  This position will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and works with our developers to automate and accelerate the security, testing, release, and deployment of software into the production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deployment and maintenance of automation systems that ensure our architecture is scalable, secure, and managed with appropriate configuration management and scripting support.
  • Deploy Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery patterns streamlining the build, test, and release process.
  • Maintain infrastructure of both Linux and Windows systems including distributed and cloud connected embedded Linux end products.
  • Proposal and promotion of new technologies and tools to optimize development and testing
  • Report and share on results of automated build chain and testing including application of static analysis tools on source code.
  • Document architecture and setup and support process evaluation and updates.
  • Lead developers in the use of tools to ensure compliance and best practices are followed
  • Review code and provide critical feedback of the development process.
  • Promote testing automation at both the software level and hardware level.
  • Define methodologies to be used during verification tests
  • Contribute to development and on-time execution of project schedules
  • Create procedures, and document procedures so that team members understand and can follow their respective roles in the deployment process


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline and 8 years’ experience
  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline and 5 years’ experience
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in IT disciplines, including technical architecture, application development, or operations
  • Background in development, operations, and full-stack implementations
  • Experience maintaining an infrastructure and ensuring stability while adding new features
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes and optimizing them with
  • Scripting (python, java, ruby) skills for installation, configuration, monitoring and automation.
  • Experience with developing software / firmware
  • Ability to clearly articulate design and implementation choices
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
  • Experience with regulatory and cyber security standards / best practices
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
  • Experience with CI/CD tools
  • Strong Unit Testing experience
  • Provides  high integrity and oversight of processes protecting intellectual property
  • Identify and apply lessons learned to correct technical quality related issues
