Job Purpose

Develop and implement the desired state of transactional and informational data flow throughout the Americas Accounting organization related to information systems implementations. This role will be accountable for improving current processes and creating the foundation for building next-generation analytical capabilities to drive business value and ensuring integrity of financial transactional processing with systems implementations.  This cross-functional leadership role will be required to align business process requirements with the data necessary to enable transformation.  Success in this role will require strong strategic thinking, attention to detail, effective communication and presentation skills, and a collaborative mindset. The role requires collaboration across key stakeholders in regional and corporate structures, including various functional areas such as supply chain, finance, operations, sales, marketing, and product teams. The position will have a keen understanding of accounting and finance but be independent from the accounting close cadence and serve as an active member of systems implementation project teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the business partners to perform value stream analysis for accounting and related business processes. This will include process mapping of the current and future state, documenting business requirements for reporting and analytics, translating business requirements into critical data elements, transformation planning, plan presentations to management, implementation, developing analytics, and ongoing monitoring activities related to process changes.
  • Project manage the planning, implementation, and post-implementation review phases of process changes and systems implementations. 
  • Actively participate in project activities to ensure project success. This is a hands-on contributor role.
  • Foster and contribute to a positive change management process and culture. This is an active process. 
  • Liaison with other departments such as IT, operations, sales, other finance team members, etc. to ensure that initiatives are harmonized with organizational strategies and needs.
  • Develop or otherwise implement process automations of transactions and reporting activities by leveraging existing IT systems and/or by using robotic process automation, Power BI, Office 365, etc.
  • This role will develop and conduct trainings to ensure the team is able to effectively deploy processes. 
  • Function as the business process lead (BPL) for IT initiatives.  This includes working with IT and finance users to ensure needs, requirements, and deliverables are well articulated and met.  This will also include supporting IT solutions such as ERP system blueprinting and implementation efforts.
  • Drive Global categorization efforts such as Global Product Hierarchy.
  • Develop solutions to ensure that data captured in various systems is equivalent or reconcilable.
  • Serve as an advocate for developing Data & Analytics competencies within the organization.
  • Create or ensure adequate process documentation to satisfy internal control, quality, and user requirements.
  • Stay abreast of current technological developments to continuously evaluate potential options for reducing costs associated with accounting and transaction processing while maintaining or improving data availability and analysis.
  • Other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of experience in operations, accounting, finance, business intelligence, program management, project management or IT experience.  Professional designations such as CPA, CISA, PMP, etc. preferred.
  • College graduate.  MBA preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Data Warehouses (EDW) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System implementations necessary.
  • Experience with robotic process automation preferred. 
  • Value Stream Analysis and LEAN experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be a hands-on contributor.
  • Must have superior interpersonal skills that allow the candidate to challenge the status quo in a professional, inclusive, and motivational manner. 
  • Must be able to perform value stream analysis including process mapping, transformation planning, implementation, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Must be able to effectively manage projects from initiation through completion. 
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and tasks with various deadlines.
  • Must be able to effectively interview team members to understand accounting transaction and business information flows. 
  • Must be able to extract, organize, analyze, and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions with the use of various IT systems (i.e., local ERP systems including SAP, data warehouses, etc.).
  • Must be able to think strategically while executing towards initiatives across multiple timelines.
  • Must have a good understanding of business concepts in a complex international manufacturing organization.
  • Must understand basic tenets of US GAAP, the accounting close process, and internal controls.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and leadership ability to build solid relationships with individuals at all levels, in multiple geographies and business functions.
  • Must have a successful record of dealing with complex organization through influence and collaboration.
  • Must have experience leading broadly with global teams, multi-functions and across organizations.
  • Must take responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment by following safety procedures, using personal protective equipment as appropriate, being aware of surroundings, and correcting or reporting potential safety hazards.
