Job Title:  Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose

EnerSys has a dynamic job opportunity available for an Applications Engineer in the Energy Systems group located in our corporate office in Reading, PA. This individual will interact with customers, engineering, marketing, customer support, sales and suppliers to provide product support and ensure designs meet or exceed expectations.  An integral part of this position is responding to daily technical inquiries received via phone calls and through a general mailbox.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support internal and external customers with engineering, technical information and installation information
• Understanding standards (IEEE, ASCE, etc) as they relate to customer requirements
• Processing custom sales orders
• Drafting support using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Creating BOM’s for new kits and batteries in BaaN and SAP
• Authorize / approve ECO’s, drawings, and designs
• Support Nuclear safety related projects

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in related engineering field or related discipline
• 2 or more years of experience in a related engineering role; Electromechanical is desired.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of standby power equipment design, industry standards and quality procedures
• Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Above average knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. 
• The ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
• Working knowledge of lead-acid or other battery chemistries
• The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment requiring a high level of attention to detail.
