Job Purpose

Our charger design group includes electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software engineers. This position is based in Reading, PA.

This is a development engineering position which offers a significant opportunity for innovation and creativity. You will be working with a team introducing switch mode technology & latest state of the art in Electronic for use in motive and reserve power battery chargers. The initial project will involve studying then designing and implementing fan-less power converter and wireless charger circuit topologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Power Converter System Modeling
  • High Frequency Magnetics Design
  • Power Converter Design with focus on High Power Density
  • Experience with the DSP for Power Converters
  • Simulations
  • Collaborative Work in a Team Environment
  • Report Generation
  • Component Cost Studies


Applicants must have the following minimum education, skills, and work experience:

  • Electrical Engineering degree with exposure to Power Electronics and Power Engineering
  • Good engineering communications and documentation skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment on a number of projects at once
  • The ability to learn new concepts quickly

The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will be required to demonstrate in depth technical knowledge and expertise in the following areas:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with high frequency magnetics design, development and manufacturing
  • In-depth knowledge and experience on power electronics especially with resonant converter and inverter build and test
  • In-depth knowledge of Maxwell, Q3D or equivalent electromagnetic design tools 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of power device, device characterization and gate driver design
  • Demonstrate power circuit simulation capability with PSpice, PLECS, Matlab/Simulink
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with EMI/EMC
