Job Title:  Senior Systems Engineer

Job Purpose

The candidate is expected to be an expert in mechanical design concepts and typical tools used during product design providing leadership and direction. This mixed with a broad cross disciplinary background allows the candidate to offer constructive feedback during design reviews and consulting expertise when required by product development teams. Initial focus of the position will be on new Lithium based technologies and applications for various markets and environments including motive and stationary power installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Independently verify mechanical simulation results and calculations
• Approve laboratory test configurations and the resulting data analysis
• Coordinate assembly and Design for Manufacturing reviews ensuring design is optimized for mass production
• Propose novel new concepts and ideas for new product developments
• Mentor and guide design engineers
• Communicate with project stakeholders and manage requirements and schedules for the product developments
• Decompose complex systems into manageable pieces and delegate them to appropriate design teams
• Perform risk management activities such as FTA, FMEA and HAZOPs
• Coordinate and attend design/ gate reviews ensuring required deliverables meet design quality standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 years of relevant experience
• 3D CAD with Solidworks and Creo/ProE
• Knowledge of PTC Windchill or other PLM concepts and tools
• FEA for structural and thermal simulations
• CFO for thermal simulations
• Project Management Skills
• Master's Degree is preferred
