Job Purpose
The Senior Vice President of Engineering Global is the senior global leader responsible for operational engineering execution, with direct leadership of NIS and IMS engineering and a strong emphasis on system solutions, disciplined new product introductions, and scalable engineering processes. This position will align global engineering resources, priorities, and standards to support business growth, operational excellence, product reliability, and customer-focused system-level solutions. The role will partner closely with product management, operations, manufacturing, quality, sales, and regional business leaders to translate market and customer requirements into executable engineering roadmaps, deliver new products from concept through launch, and ensure engineering programs are completed on time, within budget, and with the required quality, manufacturability, and compliance. The Senior Vice President of Global Engineering will also build and develop a high-performing global engineering organization capable of supporting current operations while accelerating innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the global Specialty Engineering organization, including NIS and IMS engineering, to deliver system solutions, product platforms, and engineering support aligned with business priorities.
- Establish and execute a global engineering strategy that supports growth, operational excellence, customer requirements, manufacturability, quality, cost, and lifecycle performance.
- Own the engineering execution model for new product introductions, ensuring disciplined stage-gate governance, clear resource allocation, risk management, validation planning, launch readiness, and post-launch performance tracking.\
- Partner with product management, operations, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, sales, and regional commercial teams to translate market needs into engineering requirements and executable product roadmaps.
- Drive system-level engineering solutions that integrate hardware, software, controls, power electronics, connectivity, safety, and serviceability to meet customer and market needs.
- Provide leadership for engineering standards, design practices, technical reviews, documentation, configuration control, and global design consistency across NIS and IMS engineering teams.
- Develop and manage global engineering budgets, resource plans, project priorities, capital needs, and performance metrics to ensure predictable execution and responsible use of resources.
- Build, mentor, and develop engineering leaders and technical talent, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Lead cross-functional problem solving on critical product, customer, field, quality, manufacturing, and operational engineering issues, ensuring timely resolution and lessons learned.
- Support strategic customer engagements, executive reviews, technical presentations, product planning sessions, and major program reviews as the senior engineering representative
- Establish engineering performance indicators for project delivery, product quality, productivity, technical risk, cost reduction, design reuse, and operational effectiveness.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Up to 35% of domestic and international travel required to support global engineering teams, manufacturing sites, customer engagements, technical reviews, and new product introduction activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required; advanced technical degree or MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including leadership of global or multi-site engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading operations engineering, product engineering, systems engineering, or related functions in a complex technical environment.
- Proven track record delivering new product introductions from concept through commercialization, including stage-gate governance, validation, launch readiness, and post-launch support.
- Strong understanding of engineered system solutions, including the integration of mechanical, electrical, controls, software, manufacturing, quality, and service requirements.
- Experience developing engineering roadmaps, managing complex project portfolios, prioritizing resources, and ensuring delivery against schedule, cost, quality, and performance commitments.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align engineering decisions to customer needs, operational priorities, financial targets, and enterprise strategy.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of software and engineering/project management tools used for analysis, reporting, presentations, collaboration, and program tracking.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with executive leadership, customers, field sales, operations, manufacturing sites, and global engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in battery, energy storage, power electronics, industrial systems, aerospace and defense, motive power, or related engineered product environments.
- Experience leading global engineering standardization, design reuse, platform development, cost reduction, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Experience supporting customer-facing technical discussions, major program reviews, and executive-level product or technology roadmap presentations.
