Job Purpose

EnerSys Delaware Inc.’s Reading, PA, office seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and continuous improvements by performing supplier audits, product evaluations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work directly with supplier(s) and EnerSys sites to facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action plan for nonconforming incident(s).
  • Execute the product qualification and validation for purchased items to ensure all the internal and external requirements are met to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction.  


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Industrial Engineering or a directly related field plus three (3) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.

  • Experience with or knowledge of:

    • Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance and Supplier quality development.

    • Quality AIAG Core Tools (Problem solving, Control Plans, FMEA, SPC, APQP.)

    • New product introductions and transfers.

    • The use of drawings / specifications (GD&T.)

    • Quality Management Systems (ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9000, etc.)

    • MS Office /Databases.

    • Plastics manufacturing and assembly.

    • Materials.

  • Must also be a trained ISO9001 or IATF16949 auditor or able to achieve full certification.

  • Must be able and willing to travel domestically to various unanticipated employer and client locations to provide technical support up to 30%.


Experience can be concurrent.
