Job Purpose

EnerSys is looking for an enthusiastic member to join our growing team designing components for motive and reserve power use. As a Systems Electronics Engineer you will contribute to the successful development of new and exciting energy storage battery systems. You will have the opportunity to work with a high-performing team and drive product system design and development while providing personal leadership growth opportunities. This is a critical engineering role providing expertise in the design and testing of products.

What to Expect

  • After 30 days in your role as a Systems Electronics Engineer you will have begun assisting with PCB design work while acquainting yourself with your new team members and completing introductory training. This is your opportunity to begin collaborating with the team and increase your knowledge of the energy storage field.
  • After 3 months you will be assigned project development responsibilities and begin directly contributing to the designs. You will have met regularly with other team members regularly to better understand their roles and how you should be working together to strategize and achieve team goals. This is also a time where you will have identified other areas where you could put your experience and skills to good use.  
  • After 6 months you will have a firm understanding of the energy storage marketplace, the customers, products and services, and the key systems and processes that are available to utilize.  In addition to this, you will have reassessed the skills and knowledge required for your role and add any gaps to your personal development plan.  EnerSys consistently strives to improve technical competency for both the individual and the team.

Qualifications

Our New Team Member Will Need:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (technology) or related technical field.
  • Experienced with PCB design software program(s): Altium preferred.
  • Knowledge in selection of components and optimization of electrical designs.
  • Practical hands-on use of common laboratory equipment and tools including oscilloscopes, dataloggers, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Exposure to prototype assembly and debugging including use of soldering and machine shop/power tools.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task in a cross-functional team.
  • Knowledge in selection of components and optimization of electrical designs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working safely with industrial power systems, including but not limited to 480VAC and high-power DC circuits is preferred.
  • Configuration management and project analysis experience is preferred.
