Job Purpose

Welcome to EnerSys! We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate students to intern during the Summer of 2024 with our team developing energy storage systems including Lithium-Ion technology. We are the global leader in stored energy solutions and believe in redefining technology to empower our customers and meet the needs of a changing world in applications such as satellites, submarines, semi-trucks, substations, forklifts, 5G networks, and more. This is your opportunity to join the EnerSys team and contribute to powering the world.

As a Systems Modeling Intern, you will contribute to the successful development of new and exciting energy storage battery systems. You will work with a high performing team and energy domain experts to help drive development of systems engineering models.  You will have the opportunity to establish a basic understanding of using models to solve mechanical, electrical, electrochemical, and thermal challenges.  You will gain valuable experience working at a global company and industry leader to help launch your future career.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support team with current projects and initiatives
  • Create physical system models
  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to collect data for model verification
  • Observe team members and learn about their role in engineering and the business

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Basic skills in Python, R, Matlab, or other programming languages
  • Understanding of modular programming for model scalability and reuse
  • To be enrolled in an accredited 4-year college studying engineering or engineering technology in any of the following: electrical, aerospace, computer science, and systems engineering or similar

  • This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
