Job Purpose

The test and validation engineer will work within the product verification and validation team to ensure products have been fully tested prior to launch to market. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The engineer will be responsible for ensuring the design has been tested to comply with UL standards (i.e. UL2580) and individual customer specifications.  The engineer will be responsible for working with test houses from quoting through execution of tests including providing technical support.  The engineer will perform testing for the development process from subcomponent all the way up to full system testing.

  • Lead effort for UL certification – creating construction documents, reviewing components, safety testing
  • Interface with test houses – Quoting packages for testing, timing coordination and technical support
  • Perform testing
    • Battery testing
    • Subcomponent testing
  • Travel to test houses
  • Assembling/Disassembly/Analysis test samples
  • Data analysis
  • Interface directly with customers to validate to their requirements
  • Close cooperation with engineering for failure analysis and correction


  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Preferably with 3 or more years of experince
  • Experience with hands on work
  • Microsoft Products
  • Experience processing data
  • Ability to travel to test houses (Possibly in Europe)
  • Interdisciplinary understanding (electro chemistry, high voltage, mechanics, electronics, software)
  • Independent and systematic approach to work with high willingness and sense of responsibility
