Job Purpose

EnerSys has an exciting opportunity available for a Validation Engineering Internship in their corporate office in Reading, PA.  This individual will be responsible for assisting in development and execution of testing plans for new products, as well as maintaining the testing schedule and generating reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend New Product Introduction meetings to report on testing status
  • Support the design and process teams with analysis of test failures 
  • Perform electrical and mechanical testing of batteries and battery components
  • Operate electrical instrumentation to measure the performance of batteries
  • Generate accurate technical reports for the engineering groups
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Working towards a bachelor degree in engineering or physical science
  • A working knowledge of DC circuits
  • Above average knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
  • Good problem solving and visualization skills

 

 

General Job Requirements

  • This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
