Job Purpose

The work involved is related to the overall management and general business of the Workers’ Compensation & EHS Systems Administrator function. This role is responsible for managing the company’s Workers’ Compensation (WC) program and overseeing multiple Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) systems. It ensures regulatory compliance, supports medical oversight, coordinates reporting and training, and maintains data integrity across various platforms. The position requires strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and the ability to manage complex workflows across multiple stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

A primary duty is to exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical matters within the Environmental Health & Safety department. Responsibilities include:

Workers’ Compensation Program:

  • Provide medical guidance on WC matters including return-to-work and light duty.
  • Conduct monthly WC reviews with EnerSys sites; manage meeting logistics and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, plants, and Sr. Director of EHS on legal matters including depositions and settlements.
  • Recommend and justify settlement authority in coordination with claims adjusters and legal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with state-specific WC regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly WC reports and performance graphs.
  • Coordinate biannual claim review meetings with Travelers Insurance.
  • Support annual Stewardship Meetings with brokers and WC carriers.
  • Assist in onboarding EHS Managers, Nurses, and other staff.
  • Serve as WC System User Administrator.
  • Provide bi-monthly WC claim updates to Sr. Director, EHS.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding health-related and lead exposure information.
  • Update and train on WC policy across US operations.

GEHS Program Management:

  • Administer GEHS user accounts and permissions.
  • Manage location master data with Real Estate team.
  • Monitor GEHS data monthly and align reports with Sr. Director of Operations.
  • Produce and approve monthly trend/graph reports for leadership.

ETS System & EHS Program Oversight:

  • Oversee blood lead programs across Americas (excluding Brazil/Argentina).
  • Ensure daily data uploads from LabCorp and HealthGorilla.
  • Monitor ETS for data integrity and resolve issues.
  • Conduct biannual blood lead testing; manage scheduling and results distribution.
  • Support plant compliance with ETS reporting.
  • Manage air lead data uploads from Eurofins.
  • Coordinate pregnancy counseling sessions with Dr. Gordon Manin.
  • Upload Mexico Carpermore lab results into ETS.
  • Execute and route monthly Fetal Risk Reports through multi-level approval workflow.

System & User Administration: Administer HealthGorilla and LabCorp user access and training.

Administrative & Coordination Support: 

  • Provide billing and scheduling support for EHS/Real Estate/Facilities.
  • Schedule BCI Committee and large team meetings.
  • Support department administrative needs.
  • Participate in MERT and Fire Captain responsibilities.
  • Review and approve Cintas orders for First Aid and AED supplies.

Other Duties:

  • Multitask and work independently.
  • Make strategic decisions on WC claims.
  • Take on new and confidential projects as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None directly, but may coordinate with site-level EHS staff and external vendors.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience: Experience in Workers’ Compensation and EHS systems administration.

Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills: Basic statistical analysis for reporting and trend evaluation.

Reasoning Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in GEHS, ETS, LabCorp, HealthGorilla, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: First Aid, CPR, AED (preferred but not required as training will be provided)

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Other Qualifications:

  • Understanding of medical oversight and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Travel Required: Occasional travel to EnerSys sites and meetings with external partners. <5% annual travel.
