Job Purpose

We are now accepting applications for a Demand Planner at the Richmond location.  This is a salary position reporting to the Demand Planning Manager.  This position is responsible for creating a Demand Plan for designated products and plants.  Supports end-to-end supply chain, capacity planning process, and order fulfillment for designated products.  Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, and Operations Managers to review and input forecasts into planning systems.  Collaborates with Supply Chain and Customer Service to review demand changes and coverage.  Creates a Demand Plan using inventory and shelf-life targets, available capacity and resources.  Supports the monthly Sales and Operations Planning process through analytics.  This can be a hybrid position, meaning there is an opportunity to work from home up to three days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Inventory Control: manage inventory levels for designated batteries and accessories.  Develop and adjust statistical analysis by SKU and family using sales pattern to determine possible changes to stocking plans. Be able to determine most appropriate stock levels, build quantities and stock locations.  Make stocking recommendations given sales, customer needs and customer service feedback.  Review stock levels to reduce or discontinue SKU’s based on sales projections.
  2. Production Planning: work with plants and suppliers to meet customer fulfillment and target inventory levels.  Assure the plant load is sustained to meet PSI plans when orders are cancelled, reallocated or moved out.
  3. Perform any statistical analyses to increase accuracy of the forecast.
  4. Must be creative, have excellent analytical skills, possess high personal performance standards and be comfortable operating in a fast paced environment.
  5. Publish and distribute periodic inventory and Demand Management reports.
  6. Manager assigned projects to facilitate new product introductions and cost-effective phase-outs of products being discontinued.
  7. Support cross functional task forces where required to solve problems impeding identified targets.
  8. Regular in person attendance with on time arrival/departure. Required to work irregular hours on short notice.  Punctuality and dependability are a job requirement.

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or Business) and/or 4 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in demand planning, supply chain, production planning, logistics, accounting, or purchasing environment.
  • Competent computer skills, including WORD and EXCEL.


  • APICS certification is a plus.
  • Experience in international exporting, collections & production planning is a plus.
  • Experience in ERP systems such as SAP, BAAN, or Oracle is a plus.
  • Experience in SIOP is a plus.
