Compensation Range: $72,000-$90,000 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.  

Job Purpose

The HR Generalist, as part of the Human Resource team, supports Richmond Kentucky operations with overall policy administration and employee relations functions. Main responsibilities include recruitment, retention, on-boarding, and training coordination as well as communication, benefits administration, policy administration, and payroll processing.  The HR Generalist will also maintain accurate and up to date employee records and track key performance indicators, promote employee engagement and appreciation, and ensure fair and consistent practices among all employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing, and implementing initiatives to help promote continuous improvement, employee engagement within the facility, and ongoing projects including training, cross-training, and recognition.
  • Involved in implementing plant-wide communication strategies to ensure effective communication to all employees
  • Lead and manage projects aimed at improving the Employee Experience and creating an environment that promotes fairness, engagement, and recognition.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and data relating to turnover, recruiting, staffing, customer service, attendance, etc.
  • Assist in the process of implementing and updating policies and procedures as it relates to the employee handbook.
  • Perform regular audits for attendance, employee files, training documentation and policy updates.
  • Process payroll adjustments and employee updates in the employee file system.
  • Review applicants, schedule and conduct interviews, and initiate and monitor all onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Collect relative HR data and track key performance metrics for the department
  • Must be flexible to work odd hours when needed in order to communicate with employees on all shifts.
  • Ability to correctly interpret and apply company policies; provide timely, accurate responses to employee inquiries.
  • Participates in HR staff meetings and attends other meetings as required/scheduled.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations/laws.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or other related field with a minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in Human Resources, or an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or other related field with a minimum of five (5) years progressive Human Resources experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Organizational Psychology. Five years of progressive Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (preferred): PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP

COMPETENCIES:
Possess above average written and verbal communication skills; competent with Microsoft Office Suite applications and HRIS systems; ability to create spreadsheets for analysis and tracking of various information.
Knowledge in HR administration principles/practices, effective oral/written communication
Excellent interpersonal skills including: (a) ability to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (b) ability to build relationships with leadership and other co-workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes.
Maintains a professional appearance and attitude
Ability to prioritize HR assignments/projects.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when appropriate.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
